My Role: Technical Product Manager / Product Lead
Overview
I was assigned to the API and the No-Code Target Pipeline for the data importer. There was no product team when I came in. I was entrusted with the task to formulate and structure this department under direct supervision and guidance of the CEO & CTO (Co-Founders) along with a team of 11 individuals each heading a specific domain e.g. Growth marketing, Sales etc.

โ€I did not dive deep into any development related activities' due to my limited time here.
My Contributions
- Leading the Product Department
- Defining & Tracking OKR/KPI/Metrics for Product Department
- Competitor Analysis & Market Research
- Roadmap Planning
- Feature Prioritization
- Sprint & Backlog Management (Agile Scrum)
- User Feedback Collection & Analysis
- Improving API Product Documentation
- Proposing a Prioritization framework for Product-related requests
- Product Demos & Tech Briefings to potential customers.
- Help develop React Sandboxes for Specific Use Cases
โ€
Since there was no "product team member", I had to take all product-related matters in my own hands from Day 0. No proper feedback mechanisms or support processed were there. Neither were the existing ones structured. The SDLC was mostly outsourced to developers in Thailand so communication between Business & Tech domains were not ideal. There were also the lack of touchpoints between the technical and non-technical teams. Most importantly, competitor analysis or market research was not being conducted by anyone at all actively and the data being used was 3 years old (therefore the values, stats and facts were all astray in the latest market)
Challenges
Approach
I became aware of these challenges in my screening interviews i.e. way before starting with the company. Therefore I took out some time to pre-plan accordingly so that things won't end up in a hurricane once I join. Therefore, I created my own PM onboarding plan on a collaboration tool "Miro". This helped me achieve what only 5% people achieve in their first few weeks.
The Product:
